VBS 2008

If you're interested, our most recent church newsletter
had a report on VBS, which was about Heroes. There are
just two photos accompanying the report, which appears
on page 4 of this pdf document. One is of James with
Elizabeth Dunne, who was his "helper" for the week.
(The other is our new associate pastor as "Pirate Paul.")
Find the newsletter at: http://www.edmondsumc.org/uploads/Guidelights/7-31-08web.pdf.

Here's our "family picture" taken at EDCC by the "snowball bush" in June 2008! You can't tell it's a snowball bush, and instead of Memorial Day it's a month later, but that's how it goes!

Kids in the Kayak

Uncle Ted let the boys sit in the kayak!

James' Glasses!

James got his new glasses on Tuesday.
He's doing pretty well with them.
He doesn't keep them on all the time, but
he's been pretty good about taking them off
and handing them to us rather than
throwing them!

More fun with Zorro!

Beth got to go to Little Bit with us to see James
ride Zorro. These are some of her pictures.

At the Beach with Beth

Beth and I took the boys to the beach one day too.

Hiking in Edmonds

While Beth was visiting, we went for a hike
in a park nearby that we'd never been to
before.
Both boys did a great job, and we saw lots of neat things, including this banana slug!

Some of Beth's Seattle pictures...

Beth's Visit Summer 2008

Our friend Beth came to visit for a week in late July.
She got to go kayaking with our friend Ted, explored
downtown Seattle (walking from Pioneer Square to Lake
Union and beyond!), babysat the boys so we could go
out one night, and took LOTS of pictures.

Here are a couple of pictures of her
with the kayak to start:

Stephanie and Ian

Here are our friend Stephanie and her boyfriend Ian, visiting from San Diego.

They stopped by for one night before a cruise to Alaska.

Ian plays piano for David Jeremiah's church; the cruise was a program of his ministry.

Stephanie works for her dad, who runs Inspiriation Cruises, which makes travel arrangements for these events. You can learn more about Ian and his music at http://www.ianoakley.com/.

They're traveling with Holland America on their ship the Oosterdam. (You can just see it in this picture, as they sailed past Edmonds on their way out.)

Backyard Water Fun!

Here's more backyard fun, with still pictures
of our time outside on a hot day this week.
James loves to jump in the water!
Here Braden was "washing his hair"!
Now he's a little stuck on the way in or out of his "bath."
James loves to pour water from cups
into buckets and back. Today it was complicated
by the fact that the bucket has a hole in the bottom!
Braden is showing off the ball he found in the water!

Down Syndrome Community Night at the Everett Aquasox

Here we are at the Everett Aquasox Game. They are the Mariners' single-A farm team in Everett.
This was a special Down Syndrome Community night where we got to meet the players, and stand on the field with them during the national anthem. And the kids got hats and baseballs.

Boys Splashing August 6

Here are both boys splashing in little buckets
outside to cool down!

This is James splashing in the back yard on a warm summer morning!
